Bio

'Ideas often emerge suddenly, almost like a flash in the dark. When their intensity persists, they

gradually take form as a work. My practice is driven by close observation and chance encounters in

everyday life. I am particularly interested in the relationship between interior and exterior space, and

in moments where what is hidden becomes visible, touching on intimacy, vulnerability, and the

conditions under which personal narratives are revealed. Landscapes, people, and animals often

appear in my work with a symbolic or narrative quality.

Having grown up in Peloponnese, I am drawn to the theatricality of the landscape, shaped by its

morphology and the interplay of light and shadow. I am equally intrigued by the material presence of

the image — surfaces that carry weight, texture, and time. Elements from music, such as rhythm and

melodic movement, also, inform my process and they translate into form, colour, and repetition.

I work across painting, installation, and sculptural objects, often incorporating materials such as wood,

fabric, earth, and found fragments. Painting remains central to my practice — both as a medium and

a way of thinking — extending beyond the canvas into space and onto objects, where image and

material begin to merge.

I feel an affinity with Greek folk art, Expressionism, and Arte Povera. Artists who have influenced my

work include Marc Chagall, Francis Bacon, Jannis Kounelis, Anselm Kiefer and William Kentridge'.
