Emmeleia Filippopoulou has completed her Master Degree in Fine Art in Manchester School of Fine Art and she is a BA Hons and MA Graduate (Integrated Master) from the School of Fine Arts of Athens in which she had been accepted as an exceptional talent. She has stood out in painting competitions and she has taken part in art exhibitions. Moreover, she has worked as a teacher of drawing and painting, preparing candidates for the School of Fine Arts in Greece and she has participated in the production of the theatrical play ‘Lovers on Canvas’ in the railway carriage theatre ‘To Treno sto Rouf’ in Athens by creating the scenery and acting as an art/ music performer. In addition, she has studied classical guitar with Y. Mouloudakis and A. Koumenteris and she has obtained the Diploma of Classical Guitar. She has taken part in classical music festivals as an active member all across Greece while she has given solo recitals and she has collaborated with music groups. Recently, she has led the Nisyros Project, a 12-day Residency Workshop supported by Manchester School of Art and the Municipality of Nisyrians for BA and MA art students from Manchester, which culminated in an exhibition at the Archaeological Museum of Nisyros Island. Through her artistic practices and the engagement with music, she seeks the intrinsic element of dramaturgy, which was, also, the subject of matter of her performance in the final MA Show at HOME in Manchester.
